This is where the fun really begins!

In this section of the site, you will find access to start your professional health and fitness Pilates based coaching.

All new members of MyPilatesClub will need to start off with a clear understanding about how Pilates works and what they need to do to get the maximum benefit from the exercise classes. We want you to gain pleasure and enjoyment out of the classes as well as see positive improvement as you work your way through the training.

If you have not already done so, we recommend that you start off with a review of the New Members Start page, which you can link to here .

The next step for ALL members (including the Improvers please!) is to familiarise themselves very thoroughly with the Pilates fundamental principals video series which you will find below. This section should be viewed and the exercises practiced for at least 7 days. You should then only advance further if you feel confident with these basics. You should also return to this section regularly, to refresh yourself with the correct techniques as it is easy to slip into incorrect movements and bad habits! Don’t worry, there’s nothing too hard here, but it is important to start off right.

When you joined MyPilatesClub as a paid member, you will have subscribed under one of three possible categories:

  • Back Care Pilates (For people who have suffered with non specific general lower back pain problems.)
  • Beginners Pilates (For members without back pain issues who are new to Pilates or not confident at a more advanced level.)
  • Improvers Pilates (For people who have several months experience of Pilates training and have reached a level of confidence with all the beginners level exercises. Please note that a coaching video course at this level is not currently available and may follow in the future.) 

After practicing the fundamental principals programme, you will then graduate to follow your selected category of coaching as shown below.

All members (from any of the three categories of coaching) will also be welcome to review the extra videos and audios we have available to help them in development  of their physical and mental wellbeing. As we add more choices within this section, there may be some exercises that are not appropriate to particular people, such as those disposed to back problems for example, and we will endeavour to bring such matters to your attention. Always remember though, if there is pain or marked discomfort with an exercise you should stop immediately.  Or if you have been advised by your clinical practitioner not to attempt particular exercises, then you must follow their advice.

Weight Loss

Is Pilates easy exercise?

Well – yes and no. Pilates is about careful, slow, gentle movement and not the massive, rapid, demanding actions found in some sports or other exercise disciplines. But whilst it is a gentle form of exercise, the precision and control of body movement required is quite high. This takes careful practise and the development of good muscular strength, control and co-ordination to be able to master the movements. This is an easy question to answer, but the end results will not be achieved without effort and close attention to the lessons over a sustained period, so that Pilates becomes a normal part of all that you do in your everyday life. Before starting any new exercise regime it is important to be sure you are fit enough and will not cause yourself harm. Our advice to any new student is to have a medical check up by your doctor.
